Day 1

That flight is an absolute killer ~ no matter what people tell you, or even how you imagine it to be, nothing can prepare you for the sheer distance!! I thought that the flight path would take us over mainland Europe, then over the middle east etc etc, on it’s way to Hong Kong, but no. Over the vast expanse of Russia we go! Russia did just go on for ever and ever and ever and ever… we went ovcer minsk, omsk, splodgyvad, whackov and some places with no vowels what so ever :) hehe

Fortunately the plane was fairly empty, this still didn’t help it struggling to take off though, blimey these 747’s are fat. Gotta say that Qantas are a quality company though, they looked after us well, big smiles there then. The stop over at Hong Kong went far quicker than we imagined, with the refueling only taking 2 hours. Then back on board for the final 8 hour leg to Melbourne.

Day 2

Woke up at 5.30 in the afternoon, got up pottered about a bit, it got dark, we had dinner, then went to bed again.

Day 3

Woke up at 5.30 in the morning, went on ebay, found a 1977 Mk1 golf with all the chrome bit’s, ending in 6 hours. It was in Sydney, and was up for $250 australian dollars, which is around £100. I emailed the guy selling it, and it turns out he’s a Brit from Brighton, and has a shed full of other VAG tat, so when we pop over to Sydney we shall be paying him a visit, with a large suitcase on wheels.

Then I went back to sleep for a few hours, until the rest of the world woke up. Then it was a morning of wine tasting, then a posh lunch, then a walk in a beautiful mountain forest, then a scary experience with a leech. Then camomile tea with guitar accompaniment before bed. Then Bed. Then Sleep. Then.

Whilst you’re enjoying the Aussie sunshine just think about what you could have won ;)

I need some help and advice people!

Elvis failed his MOT due to the rear passenger side brake producing ‘little or no effort’ with either hydraulic pressure or with the handbrake.

On inspection it seemed that the mechanisms were working but that brake fluid had leaked out and potentially fouled the shoes.
I’ve put a new cylinder and shoes on but the drum seems really tight when getting back onto the stub axle and won’t spin freely - is this something to do with the adjustment mechanism???

I could do with an explanaion of how rear drum adjustment works - i’ve got Elvis’s MOT retest booked for Tuesday and a wife chomping at the bit to get truckin’ ;)

I don’t want to fail again!!!

Hehe… just thought i’d take full advantage of the free internet this apple store in london seems ot have :)

I’m currently in a sea of shiney white pastic, lil’ bit o’ chrome, and a wash of aluminium… all of which is being molested by finger frenzy, as people grab their free 15 mins of net time.

You should see the size of this monitor - it’s making my eyeys go funny - yikes! i als have a rather expensive looking keyboard (of themusical variety) and a funky looing black nano… wow this place is heaven.

Off to get something to eat now, then back to the hotel for some much needed pre flight rest.

Next stop - Oz.
Speak soon.

No Dice;

Ooooh - imagine strutting around Edition38 with a GoodSod™ original on!

Elsecar 2006;

so watch out! :)

Take a look?

Well today I’m tired. It could be the remnants of a cheeky weekend’s scrumpy that I’m partaking of - or it could be the fact that I’ve spent two and a half hours sat in the cold & dark putting on a new cv joint and associated breaking paraphanalia. Which didn’t fit.
After a conversation with Mr Hammer and Mr Metal-File it did.
Props to Mr Williams and Ms Lovatt for their patient help this past weekend, I couldn’t think of anyone I’d rather steal a pipe with ;)
Well MOT draws closer with just a few things on the checklist to sort before Elvis is sent to the lions, oh I must order that grommet!

Take a looksee…
