Day 1

That flight is an absolute killer ~ no matter what people tell you, or even how you imagine it to be, nothing can prepare you for the sheer distance!! I thought that the flight path would take us over mainland Europe, then over the middle east etc etc, on it’s way to Hong Kong, but no. Over the vast expanse of Russia we go! Russia did just go on for ever and ever and ever and ever… we went ovcer minsk, omsk, splodgyvad, whackov and some places with no vowels what so ever :) hehe

Fortunately the plane was fairly empty, this still didn’t help it struggling to take off though, blimey these 747’s are fat. Gotta say that Qantas are a quality company though, they looked after us well, big smiles there then. The stop over at Hong Kong went far quicker than we imagined, with the refueling only taking 2 hours. Then back on board for the final 8 hour leg to Melbourne.

Day 2

Woke up at 5.30 in the afternoon, got up pottered about a bit, it got dark, we had dinner, then went to bed again.

Day 3

Woke up at 5.30 in the morning, went on ebay, found a 1977 Mk1 golf with all the chrome bit’s, ending in 6 hours. It was in Sydney, and was up for $250 australian dollars, which is around £100. I emailed the guy selling it, and it turns out he’s a Brit from Brighton, and has a shed full of other VAG tat, so when we pop over to Sydney we shall be paying him a visit, with a large suitcase on wheels.

Then I went back to sleep for a few hours, until the rest of the world woke up. Then it was a morning of wine tasting, then a posh lunch, then a walk in a beautiful mountain forest, then a scary experience with a leech. Then camomile tea with guitar accompaniment before bed. Then Bed. Then Sleep. Then.
